Upstate Dream Institute & Slumberland Snacks Sleep Squares The Upstate Dream Institute (UDI), located in scenic Spencer, NY, was founded in January 2007 and is sanctioned by New York State as an official research institute, specializing in the development, marketing, and distribution of natural herbal dietary supplements. With the high percentage of people worldwide suffering from various sleep disorders, UDI is dedicated to providing healthy alternatives to this ever-growing epidemic. In the U.S. alone, over 145 million adults suffer from some form of sleep-related problem on a regular basis, with one-third reporting these problems occurring every night. For many, prescription sleep medications are too powerful, addictive, and can produce a variety of morning-after side effects. UDI’s initial product, Dream Boost, an all-natural patented sleep and dream enhancer and first of its kind in the natural products arena, was a recipient of the 2008 Gear Award Seal of Excellence as well as one of five finalists for Best New Supplement of the Year 2008 at the Natural Products Expo East in Boston. In January 2009, SPINS, a marketing research and consulting firm for the natural product industry, named Dream Boost as a top trend for 2009. In 2012, UDI was issued a patent for the formulation. In 2009, Slumberland Snacks, a subsidiary of UDI, was started to evolve the sleeping category from standard capsules and tablets to a more enjoyable delivery method. After 18 months of development, Slumberland Snacks achieved this goal and introduced Sleep Squares, a natural chocolate-flavored sleep aid, to the marketplace. Sold throughout the world and clinically shown to be highly effective, Sleep Squares have been bringing much needed sleep assistance to a large population of consumers, including those who normally would not take supplements but are more open to a bedtime treat. |
